Nike GP Challenge Pro Tennis Shoes
Celebrate your skill in the all-new Nike GP Challenge Pro tennis trainer in White/Hyper Crimson-Hyper Royal, designed for baseline back-and-forth bolts and dashes to the net bringing the needed speed and stability to help your game go the distance.
Designed for wear on hard-court surfaces and successfully blending comfort and performance, the Nike GP Challenge Pro features a strong plastic midfoot plate that works in tandem with a wide base to offer stability for quick cuts and sudden changes in direction, ideal for facilitating your dynamic movements around the court. Synthetic material around the lateral side helps keep your foot contained when moving side to side, while extra rubber in the toe area – specifically the big-toe side – adds durability where it’s needed most, with high-abrasion rubber along the outsole delivering enhanced durability and traction for long-lasting wear. Underfoot, a heel Air Zoom unit provides support, with the padded collar and tongue gently wrapping your ankle in plush comfort for a soft feel with every step.
Nike
Ever since their first entry into tennis footwear back in 1973, Nike have set the trends that define the shoes we see on-court to this day.
Bringing colour and attitude to a sport famed for its formal dress codes, the Swoosh shook up the establishment in the 70s with some inspired designs and endorsements, signing up first Ilie Nastase in ’73, and then, in 1978, John McEnroe.
Confident and uncompromising, McEnroe was the perfect partner for Nike as they grew their influence in the game, particularly thanks to his personal championing of the classic Air Trainer 1 in the 80s – a shoe that likely wouldn’t have seen the light of day had he not insisted its prototype be developed into a full design.
After McEnroe came Agassi, Courier, and Sampras. All three had some superb shoes that pushed the boundaries for technology as much as looks, with Agassi’s Air Tech Challenge and Sampras’s Air Oscillate featuring industry-leading engineering, just as Federer and Nadal’s shoes have in more recent times.
Rafa’s signature shoe, the Zoom Vapor Cage, remains available today with its winning combination of performance and durability, while Naomi Osaka’s Zoom GP Turbo follows in the footsteps of Serena’s Flare in leading the way for women’s footwear. All Court
All court tennis shoes are designed to perform across a variety of court surfaces, making them versatile footwear options for tennis players. These shoes feature an outsole with a universal tread pattern to provide the right balance of grip and give on both hard and clay courts, and even grass. Additionally, they often have reinforced toe caps for added durability, considering the high-wear nature of tennis. Cushioning and stability are prioritised to support swift lateral movements and quick pivots. All court tennis shoes are ideal for players who play on different surfaces or for those who prefer a multi-purpose tennis shoe.
